Medical Education Investigation Commission report unveiled

Kathmandu, April 11

The Ministry for Education, Science and Technology has made public the report of the ‘Medical Education Investigation Commission-2017.’ The Ministry unveiled the report six years after the Commission submitted it to the Ministry.

The recommendations furnished in the report regarding measures to address the irregularities in the medical education sector, affiliation, entrance exam, entrance, fees and quality control-related issues, would be implemented immediately, the Ministry pledged.

The Commission chaired by former Chairperson of Special Court, Gauri Bahadur Karki was formed by the government by publishing a notice in the Gazette to probe the anomalies prevailing in the medical education sector. The Commission was also mandated to present a report furnishing the recommendations.
