Design and Display
The Xiaomi 14 Pro is similar to last year’s Xiaomi 13 Pro. The major difference is the camera module. The camera module is slightly bigger than the 13 Pro. The camera module is squared in shape with curved edges. It is available in four different colour options; Black, White, Rock Green and Titanium Special Edition.
The first three colour options have a glass back and an aluminium frame whereas the Titanium Special Edition gets a Titanium frame just like the iPhone 15 Pro series. The frame has a raw Titanium finish and an orange accent around the camera module.
The frame on the Xiaomi 14 Pro is flat on the sides with slight curves on the edges with a shiny finish. The back is ever so slightly curved into the frame. The display is also slightly curved for an immersive visual experience. The display even though is slightly curved, you cannot feel the curved part rather flat.
As for the display, the Xiaomi 14 Pro features a big 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED screen with vibrant colours and a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440. It has a frame rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. Additionally, it has a touch sampling rate of up to 2,160Hz.
It supports a wide P3 colour gamut for rich and accurate colours. It can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits making it handy during heavy lighting conditions and bright sunlight. As for protection, it uses Xiaomi Longjing Glass which is also called Dragon Crystal Glass which is 10 times durable than other glass protections. It also has IP68 dust and water resistance.
Performance and Storage
The Xiaomi 14 Pro debuts the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4nm process. The chipset is said to have 30 per cent better performance than the 8 Gen 2. It includes an octa-core CPU with a high-performance Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.3 GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2 GHz for everyday tasks, and two power-efficient Cortex-A520 cores at 2.3 GHz. The Adreno 750 GPU handles the graphics performance for everyday use, multitasking and gaming.
It runs on the new Android 14 operating system with Xiaomi’s HyperOS. HyperOS is the new operating system that Xiaomi is replacing in place of the MIUI. HyperOS is more modern and streamlined, featuring less saturated colours and is also lightweight and efficient, leading to better battery life than the MIUI.
The Xiaomi 14 Pro is available in two RAM options of 12 GB and 16 GB. The 12 GB RAM option is paired with 256 GB storage whereas the 16 GB RAM option is paired with 512 GB and 1 TB of storage.
