Design and display
It seems Samsung Galaxy A54 5G has been inspired by Samsung Galaxy S23. The previous year’s A53 5G had a box-like design over the camera setup and plastic back, but now A54 has a clean finish, getting rid of the box-like design and a glass back which gives a flagship design to the phone. The phone has a triple camera setup on the back and a hole punch camera on the front. The bezels are also quite thin but not as thin on Galaxy S23 which is reasonable for the price point.
The display size of Galaxy A54 5G is 6.4 inches and has a Super AMOLED display. The phone has a full HD+ resolution with 1080 X 2340 pixels and a 120Hz maximum refresh rate. It has a peak brightness of 1000 nits which has a decent view in direct sunlight. The phone’s display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has a really good dust/water resistant IP67 rating.
Performance and Storage
Samsung experiments with Galaxy A54 5G with the newly announced chipset Exynos 1380. The 5nm-based chipset provides a boost of performance than the previous year’s Exynos 1280. The GPU on the phone is Mali-G58 and the OS on the phone is Samsung’s own OneUI 5.1 which is based on Android 13.
The phone has 8GB RAM with two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. The phone also has a hybrid sim port which can also be used to increase storage using a microSD card.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G has a triple camera setup on the back. That includes a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera. The rear camera also has OIS for a stabilised result. The rear camera can record UHD videos of up to 4K at 30fps.
The front camera on the phone includes a 32MP camera which can also shoot videos in 4K at 30fps.
Battery and others
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G includes a li-po 5000mAh non-removable battery which can be charged using a 25W wired charger. The sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, light sensor and a virtual proximity sensor. The dual stereo speakers for the price point are very good.
The phone is available in funky colours such as lime, graphite and violet. They make the phone quite different from Samsung Galaxy S23 and the S23+ giving its own identity.
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is expected to soon be available in Nepal with prices of Rs 61,000 for the 8/128GB variant and Rs 65,000 for the 8/256GB variant.
