NGO supports the opening of a ‘model’ library in Syangja

Kathmandu, April 24

Read Nepal, a Nepali NGO, has extended its support to establish the Matribhumi Library in Birghakatti village in Kaligandaki rural municipality-4 of the Syangja district in western Nepal.

The local library construction committee says the infrastructure will be a model library in the country.

Whereas the NGO had extended its support for preliminary construction works for the library last year, it recently signed an agreement with the library committee for the second level of cooperation.

The NGO’s Deputy Director Chin Kaji Shrestha and the library committee’s Chairman Rajendra Prasad Pandey signed the agreement in Syangja on Friday.

As per the agreement, the Synagja library will get support worth Rs 5.24 million from the organisation. The support will include physical infrastructures, books and other resources, training and other technical support.

Chairman Pandey says with the support, the library will be made modern and tech-friendly.
