Man stabbed to death in Kathmandu outskirts

Kathmandu, January 17

A man has been murdered by stabbing at Gurjudhara, Chandragiri municipality-8 in the western outskirts of Kathmandu on Sunday.

Another person has sustained injuries in the attack.

The victim has been identified as Roshan Rijal (26), a permanent resident of Matatirtha in Kathmandu but currently residing at Gurjudhara.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Anuj Basnet and Ashok Basnet for their alleged involvement in the attack. SP Dinesh Raj Mainali says one of them was arrested in Kathmandu on Sunday whereas the second one was arrested in Dhading on Monday.

A preliminary investigation suggests the Basnets stabbed Rijal over a minor dispute.

“But, further investigation is still underway and we will arrest others if they are found involved,” informs DSP Dilli Narayan Pandey of the Metropolitan Police Circle in Chandragiri.

The body has been sent to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
