Birgunj, January 27
Two persons died in a road accident in the Bara district of western Nepal on Wednesday evening.
The victims have been identified as Naresh Sah (40) and Shital Sah (55), residents of Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-5 of the Bara district.
A Scorpio with the Indian number plate BR-05-AR 5151, heading towards Birgunj from Kalaiya, hit a motorbike (Na 8 Pa 8863) head on, injuring the rider and pillion rider of the bike, according to police.
The duo were rescued and taken to the Narayani Hospital in Birgunj, but it referred them to the National Medical College forfurther treatment. DSP Rajesh Thapa of the District Police Office says the doctors there declared them dead at around 10:30 pm yesterday.
The SUV driver is on the run and police have launched a manhunt.
