At least 88 killed in floods and landslides across Nepal since Monday

Kathmandu, October 21

As many as 88 people have lost their lives in the recent incidents of floods, landslides and inundation that occurred in different parts of the country following unseasoned rains, the Home Ministry data reveals.

According to the Home Ministry’s Disaster Management Division, 30 people have so far gone missing in the incidents.

Most of the victims were killed in landslides.

The Panchthar district saw the highest number of death (27) in the recent disastrous incidents. Ilam and Doti witnessed the deaths of an equal of 13 people. Human loss was also reported in other 15 districts, including Kalikot, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Bajhang, Humla, Solukhumbu, Pyuthan, Dhankuta, Morang, Sunsari and Udayapur, shares the Division Chief Humkala Pandey.

The recent disaster has affected 20 districts.

Bajhang has seen the highest number of missing (21) in the recent incidents of flood and landslide. Four people have gone missing in Panchthar as informed.

Meanwhile, the weather condition is improving from today.
