The umbrella organisation of Nepali private businesses, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries, is preparing to hold its stalled election in the second week of August.

Now, with the government gradually, relaxing the restrictions, the federation has decided to conduct the election after one and a half months.

As per the FNCCI charter, the incumbent senior vice-president will be automatically selected for the president’s position. However, there will be voting for the position of senior vice-president, who will be the president in the next term.

Shekhar Golchha, accordingly, will be selected as the president. Likewise, Chandra Dhakal and Kishor Pradhan will vie for the position of the senior vice-president.
