40 injured in microbus collision

At least 40 people were injured when two minibuses collided near Kamalbari of Byas municipality-12, Tanahun, on the Prithvi Highway.

The accident occurred when the minibus (Na 5 Kha 2856) en route to Damauli from Dumre collided with another minibus (Na 7 Kha 206) en route to Mugling from Damauli, on Sunday.

According to police, the first minibus tried to overtake the latter, resulting in the collision.

Police also informed that the driver of the first minibus is seriously injured and has been sent to Pokhara for further treatment.

Other injured are being treated at Damauli-based Ratnahari Hospital, Appollo Hospital and Pokhara Hospital, informed DSP Lila Raj Lamichhane.
