Court decision on Mahara’s custody expected today

Kathmandu District Court will on Thursday decide if former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara needs to be further remanded in custody or not.

Mahara, who has been charged with attempt to rape, was arrested on in his residence on October 6 after an official complaint was filed against him by the victim, a parliament secretariat staffer.

The district court has extended his custody three times so far. A source at the district court told Onlinekhabar that the decision to keep him in custody or release him on bail or general date will be made on Thursday itself.
