ADB hacking scandal: Three more arrested

Kathmandu, September 27

Three more people have been arrested in relation to the Agricultural Development Bank hacking case. Metropolitan Crime Division has arrested Malti Devi Neupane and Ganesh Basyal from Parbat and Yagya Raj Bhatta from Kanchanpur on Friday.

The division found Rs 4.5 million and Rs 2.4 million in Neupane’s and Bhatta’s bank accounts. The division has suspected that the two were agents of ‘Peter’, who is believed to be the mastermind of the entire scandal.

Basyal, on the other hand, is believed have been in close contact with Peter on a regular basis, said SSP Sahakul Thapa. Preliminary investigation has found out that Basyal had been transferring money to Neupane and Ram Krishna Bhusal who had been arrested by police earlier this week.

Around Rs 50 million was stolen from ADB. Around 13 people have been arrested so far.
