Former CEOs of Century Commercial Bank arrested

Kathmandu, February 27

Manoj Neupane, former CEO of Century Commercial Bank and currently Deputy CEO of Prabhu Bank, has been arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Police.

Bureau chief AIG Kiran Bajracharya told Onlinekhabar that another former CEO of Century Bank, Tulsi Ram Gautam was also arrested along with him.

According to CIB sources, Neupane was arrested after he was found to have committed loan disbursements while he was the CEO of Century Bank, which was merged with Prabhu Bank.

Neupane was working as Senior Deputy CEO after the merger of Century Bank with Prabhu Bank. After the then-CEO of Century Bank, Gautam, resigned, Neupane took over as acting CEO.

Nepal Rastra Bank pressed to appoint a CEO to the bank as it was operating without a CEO. So the bank’s board of directors gave the responsibility of CEO to Neupane.
