Design
The Hero Mavrick 440 takes design inspiration from the Harley Davidson X440 but can be distinguished with a lot of changes like the headlights. The LED DRLs are H-shaped with automatic LED headlights. The LED indicators are the same as the X440. From the front and side, the Mavrick looks a lot more modern.
Metal parts have been used quite well all over the bike. The tank is muscular and has extensions giving the look of a neo-retro sports bike. The motorbike is available in three variants and all differ in wheel type and colours. The base model has wire-spoke wheels, the mid model has alloy wheels whereas the top model has diamond-cut alloy wheels. The exhaust design is also changed and the sound is also different with an aggressive thump.
On the back, the Mavrick 440 continues the LED lighting and has a H-shaped taillight. The LED indicators are the same in the front. The overall modern retro look goes well for the roadster.
The instrument cluster on the Mavrick 440 is a digital LCD display which is simple. It displays speed, rpm, gear indicator, time, distance travelled, fuel, call, battery and message. It also has Bluetooth connectivity and an E-SIM for advanced features. There is a USB-A port on the front to charge your devices such as smartphones on the go.
The seat is soft and comfortable for both the rider and pillion during long rides, and the single grab handle is a simple metal design for the passenger.
Performance
The Hero Mavrick 440 has a single-cylinder air and oil-cooled engine with a 440cc capacity. It produces 20.13 kW/27 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and has a maximum torque of 36 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The power output is the same as the Harley Davidson X440, but it has 2 Nm less torque than the X440.
The bore and stroke measure 76.6 x 88.4mm, and it operates with a compression ratio of 9.65:1. The valve train is a 2V SOHC system, and the clutch is a multi-plate, wet type with Assist & Slipper. The transmission is also a multi-plate, wet type with Assist & Slipper, contributing to the overall functionality and performance of the motorbike.
Frame
The Hero Mavrick 440 has a Trellis Frame Body for a strong build. Its front suspension is changed to a Telescopic Front Fork whereas the X440 uses an Upside down fork.
The rear uses a Hydraulic Rear twin-shox swingarm mount. The tyres are sized at 110/70 – 17 (front) and 150/60 – 17 (rear). The braking system consists of a 320 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. All the models get dual-channel ABS as standard.
