Design and Display
The design of the Honor X8b is the same as its siblings the Honor X8 and X8a. The design is similar to the X8a’s design with the square-shaped camera module on the back. The camera module houses the triple camera setup and the flash in a square shape. The back of the phone is made up of plastic and has two colour options. The Titanium Silver colour has a matte frosted back while the Glamorous green colour option has a premium feel with a vegan leather back with a stitched design. The frame is also plastic and has a shiny finish.
On the front, the major change can be seen on the camera notch of the Honor X8b. It has a pill-shaped camera cutout, which houses the selfie camera and a flash. The pill-shaped notch further works as a dynamic island which Honor calls Mini Capsule. The dynamic island is a software feature and not a physical area like the iPhone 14 Pro series and iPhone 15 series.
The Honor X8b has a vibrant AMOLED display of 6.7 inches with an aspect ratio of 20.1:9. It has a wide spectrum of 16.7 million colours and full DCI-P3 coverage which delivers decent vivid and accurate visuals. The resolution stands at 2,412 by 1,080. It has multi-touch gestures, accommodating up to 10 touch points for seamless interaction. It has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.
Performance and Storage
The Honor X8b is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, built on a 6nm process. Its octa-core CPU, comprising four high-performing 2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold cores and four efficient 1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver cores along with the Adreno 610 GPU delivers decent performance for day-to-day tasks like multimedia and graphics handling. It runs on Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 operating system.
The Honor X8b’s memory options include one RAM option of 8 GB which also has a virtual RAM feature. With this feature, it can add 8 GB RAM using the internal storage of the smartphone for better performance. It has three storage options including 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.
Camera
The Honor X8b has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 108MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.75. Supporting the main camera is a 5MP wide and depth camera at f/2.2 and a 2MP macro camera at f/2.4. It allows detailed shots, supporting image resolutions up to 12,000 by 9,000 pixels. The rear camera offers a range of capture modes including photo, video, portrait, night, aperture, slow-motion, panorama, HDR, time-lapse, and specialized features like super macro and dual-view. Video shooting is supported up to 1080p at 30fps.
On the front, the Honor X8b houses a 50MP spotlight portrait selfie camera with an f/2.1 aperture, delivering nice selfies at a resolution of up to 8,192 by 6,144 pixels. Its video shooting capabilities are up to 1080P at 30fps. The selfie camera also has a dedicated flash for a well-lit face during selfies and videos. The front camera also offers an array of capture modes such as photo, video, portrait, night mode, time-lapse, and features like dual-view and gesture control.
Battery and Others
The Honor X8b has a Li-Po 4,500 mAh battery which can last about a day easily. It has support for 35W wired charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi supporting both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for fast internet connection and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connections with compatible devices. The phone operates on LTE networks and accommodates dual SIM cards.

It has a wide range of sensors including a gravity sensor, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking, a compass, an ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor.
