The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says most Nepali students in Israel have been relocated to a secure location. The ministry further stated that individuals in communication with the Nepali Embassy team will be repatriated once Israel grants the necessary permissions.

The spokesperson of the Ministry, Sewa Lamsal, told Onlinekhabar that the Israeli Army has taken all students to a safe place.

“We know that around 50 students have been transferred to a safe house,” said Lamsal.

Lamsal reassured the students and their parents not to panic, ensuring them that the primary crisis had now been resolved, with the Israeli army taking control of their area.

“We have to remain patient. We will bring them home. Everyone is working hard to make sure of that. Even our embassy staff in Israel are working tirelessly from their bunkers,” she said.

The government has granted permission to the Nepali Embassy in Israel to hire local individuals proficient in Hebrew for a maximum of three months, aiding in the rescue and repatriation efforts for Nepalis.

In light of the ongoing crisis in Israel, the embassy requires a person capable of speaking with local residents, the army, and staff, while also possessing an understanding of the legal processes in place. As a result, during Monday’s cabinet meeting, approval was given for the employment of an individual fluent in both English and Hebrew.

Last Saturday, a tragic incident occurred where 10 Nepali students lost their lives following the attack by Palestinian extremist group Hamas on Israel. One person is out of contact, and four individuals sustained injuries.

The Nepali Embassy in Israel has continued its online registration for individuals wishing to return to Nepal. To date, over 200 people have submitted their names, indicating their intention to return to Nepal.

The government has said that Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines are on standby for the rescue of Nepalis.
