Following the release of the budget-friendly tablet Redmi Pad, Redmi has now introduced the Redmi Pad SE, a budget tablet offering a range of features. The tablet was released on August 15 globally.

The Redmi Pad launched last year had good success with the features it provided in its price. The Pad SE is quite good and comes with interesting colour options along with a huge display.

Design and display

The design of the Redmi Pad SE is similar to its predecessor the Redmi Pad. The camera ring has changed slightly but it is very similar to the one on the Redmi Pad. The Pad SE has an aluminium back and aluminium frame. The tablet weighs 478 grams and is 7.36mm thick. The front of the tablet has equal bezels on all the sides.

The Redmi Pad SE features an 11″ FHD+ display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. It offers a brightness of 400 nits (typical) and has received TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light and Flicker Free.

The touch sampling rate goes up to 180Hz along with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4%. Its contrast ratio is 1,500:1, and it covers 70 per cent of the NTSC colour gamut. The display supports 8-bit colour depth, exhibiting 16.7 million colours.

Performance and storage

The Redmi Pad SE is powered by the Snapdragon® 680 Mobile Platform (6nm), housing an octa-core CPU with 4×2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold and 4×1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver cores. Its graphics are handled by the Adreno 610 GPU. The tablet runs on the MIUI Pad 14, which is based on Android 13.

The tablet is available in three RAM options of 4 GB, 6 GB and 8 GB which are paired with one storage option of 128 GB.

Camera

The Redmi Pad SE is equipped with an 8MP rear camera featuring an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12μm. It supports rear video recording at 1,080P (1,920×1,080) at 30fps and 720P (1,280×720) at 30fps.

On the front, there is a 5MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and the same pixel size of 1.12μm. The front camera can also record videos at 1080P (1920×1080) at 30fps and 720P (1,280×720) at 30fps.

Battery and others

The Redmi Pad SE is equipped with a battery capacity of 8,000mAh (typical). It supports 10W wired charging.

The Redmi Pad SE boasts quad speakers, with support for Dolby Atmos®, ensuring an immersive audio experience. It also supports Hi-Res Audio and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. The tablet operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi frequencies and utilizes Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. For sensors, it features a virtual ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and hall sensor.

The Redmi Pad SE comes in three colours: Mint Green, Graphite Gray, and Lavender Purple.

The Redmi Pad SE is expected to be priced at Rs 27,000 for the 4GB/128GB variant, Rs 32,000 for the 6GB/128GB variant, and Rs 36,000 for the 8GB/128GB variant in Nepal.
