Oppo has launched its new premium budget smartphone the Oppo A78 4G in Nepal. The phone is the 5G version of the Oppo A78 5G, launched in January this year. There are a few changes from the 5G version to the 4G version such as the chipset, dimensions and display.

Design and Display
The Oppo A78 4G has an eye-catching design on the back. The two colour options Mist Black and Aqua Green both are beautiful in their own ways. The Mist Black colour has a matte finish whereas the Aqua Green colour has a sandy texture with glossy criss-cross lines. On the back, it has a dual camera setup which is placed on two circular rings. The camera part is continued in a rectangular curved box which has written Innovative AI camera. The box is shiny in both colour options.
The Oppo A78 4G comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display. It has an FHD+ (2400×1080) resolution. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and a responsive touch sampling rate of up to 180Hz. The display’s reaches a peak brightness of 430 nits. It has a screen to body ratio of 90.8%. The display supports a vivid color mode with 98% NTSC and 95% DCI-P3 coverage. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, ensuring durability.
Performance and Storage
The Oppo A78 4G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU with four 2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold cores and four 1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver cores. The graphics is handled with Adreno 610 GPU. The OS is Oppo’s ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13.
It is available in one RAM option of 8GB paired along with one storage otion of 256GB. It also has the virtual RAM feature allowing you to increase the RAM from 8GB to 16GB by using 8GB of storage for RAM.
Camera
The Oppo A78 4G at the rear, it features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera offers various shooting modes, including Photos, Videos, Night, Expert, Panoramic, Portrait, Time-lapse, Slow-motion, Super Text, Google Lens, Extra HD, Multi-scene recording, and Cute. The rear camera can record videos in 1080P or 720P at 30fps, and it also supports Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for smoother footage. Additionally, it offers video zoom at 1080P/720P@30fps, slow-motion videos at 720P@120fps, time-lapse videos at 1080P@30fps, and multi-scene recording at 720P@30fps.
For selfies, the front camera has an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a wide FOV of 83°. It also includes features such as Photos, Videos, Panoramic, Portrait, Night, Time-lapse, Multi-scene recording, Cute, Beauty, and Exposure Compensation. The front camera can record videos in a maximum of 1080P or 720P at 30fps.
Battery and Others
The Oppo A78 4G is equipped with a 5000mAh battery. It supports fast charging with the impressive 67W SUPERVOOC technology. For security, it offers both an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock.
In terms of connectivity, the Oppo A78 4G supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac for fast and stable internet connectivity. It also features Bluetooth 5.0 for seamless wireless connections to other devices. Audio-wise, the device is equipped with stereo speakers and also it retains the classic 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing users to connect their preferred wired headphones.
The phone is equipped with various sensors including a Geomagnetic sensor, Proximity sensor, In-display optical sensor (for fingerprint unlock), Acceleration sensor, Gravity sensor, Gyroscope, and Step counting sensor.
