Kathmandu metropolitan city has banned vehicles inside Basantapur Durbar Square.
The decision was taken by the metropolitan city to preserve the originality of the UNESCO world heritage site.
Mayor Balen Shah said since Kathmandu was known for its ancient heritage, it was necessary to preserve it.
“This is one thing that we can proudly show the world. We need to save them because millions of people will come to see this,” he said.
