Design and Display
The Xiaomi Pad 6 has some changes in design compared to the Xiaomi Pad 5. The Pad 6 has a metal back and metal frame which was plastic in the Pad 5. On the back, the camera design is very similar to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, but with a single camera setup. There are three pogo pins for the magnetic keyboard on the bottom of the camera placement.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 features a convenient magnetic area positioned above the front camera, serving as a resting place and charging spot for the magnetic pen. At the top of the device, you’ll find the power button and two sets of speaker grills, with an additional two grills located at the bottom.
The tablet’s overall design on the front follows a similar pattern to most tablets, with equal-sized bezels on all sides. Its 11-inch IPS LCD display boasts a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 309 ppi. Supporting DCI-P3 and equipped with a 144Hz refresh rate, the display offers good visuals. With a maximum brightness of 550nits, the screen remains viewable even under direct sunlight.
Performance and Storage
The Xiaomi Pad 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, built on a 7nm architecture. Its octa-core CPU, consisting of a 3.2 GHz Kryo 585 core, 2.42 GHz Kryo 585 cores, and 1.80 GHz Kryo 585 cores, delivers good performance for multitasking and app navigation. The GPU is handled by Adreno 650 which along with the chipset delivers good performance in the graphics department.
It runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The tablet is bloatware free giving a clean user experience.
It has two RAM options of 6GB and 8GB which are paired with two storage options of 128GB and 256GB respectively.
Accessories
There are two accessories you can get with the Xiaomi Pad 6, a magnetic pen and a folio case with a keyboard. You have to buy these separately but are useful accessories for various works.
The pen can be used to get notes, scroll through the display and draw on blank papers.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 folio case features a keyboard with a key travel of 1.3mm. With its 64 keys, the keyboard offers a range of shortcuts that are customized to align with familiar laptop usage. The case protects the tablet from any scratch or fall damage.
