Indian man murdered in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, October 10

An Indian citizen was gruesomely murdered in Kathmandu on October 5 at Kathmandu’s Ramghat.

Dilip Adak, 47, a Kolkata native, was found dead by the police at his rented apartment. He had rented the flat from Hemanta Maharjan, informed police.

The valley’s crime division office in Baneshwor says the police have arrested Shrilal Thakur (known as Rajababu) who they suspect murdered Adak. Police officials say the two had been working together for the past few months.

The body was recovered by the police after people from the Maharjan household started to get suspicious that something might have happened to Adak as the doors of his flat were locked and a foul smell was coming out of it.

When police entered the flat, Adak’s corpse was in a bloodied state. Police say Thakur killed Adak for money and killed him by hitting him with a metal object.

Investigations are still ongoing, say police officials.
