Oppo F21 Pro is officially available in Nepal. With Oppo A77 and A57 launched not long ago, this marks the third release in a short span of time from the company. Oppo F21 Pro is the best offering from the company to date in Nepal. It is also the successor of last year’s Oppo F19 Pro.

Oppo F21 Pro comes with a new design and some upgrades in features over its predecessor. The one launched in Nepal is the 4G variant, allowing the company to provide an economic version compared to the 5G variant. There are lots of features to get excited about on this phone. The display on the phone is good and bright with an adequate refresh rate and touch sampling rate. Similarly, the company has also promised the improvement of camera performance over its predecessor and offers some new camera modes.

Oppo has always greatly focused on its design, resulting in good-looking phones and Oppo F21 Pro is no exception. The phone has a glass front, a plastic frame and faux leather and a plastic back depending on the colour variant. Oppo has marketed this phone as an ultra-slim retro design with a fibreglass leather back. Oppo has advertised that the back of the phone is which is premium, trendy, lightweight, and amazingly durable. It also prevents fingerprints to stay on the surface. The phone is IPX4 water resistant certified.

Similarly, the flat-edged frame with a newly designed camera module on the back gives the phone a trendy look. Also, the light surrounding the camera, which Oppo calls the orbit light, lights when the user receives notifications, messages, and even calls. This is visible only when the phone is placed upside down. This serves only little purpose to the user and seems like more of a gimmick to attract the customer.

Furthermore, the 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch-sampling rate helps in quick touch response making the use smooth. There is an optical under-display fingerprint sensor on the phone for biometrics. Oppo F21 Pro offers a decent camera performance. The phone is equipped with a triple camera set up on the back with a single sensor on the front. The 64MP main camera on the back is housed together with a 2MP depth sensor and segment’s first 2MP microscope sensor, which allows up to 30X magnification of the pictures. Meanwhile, on the front is a 32MP IMX709 camera sensor, which Oppo has marketed as Flagship. Oppo has further marketed the selfie sensor as capable of clicking bright and clear selfies under any light.

There are many shooting modes on the camera that the users can choose from. Some of the shooting mode on the phone includes night, photo, video, expert, panorama, portrait, time-lapse, slow-motion, text scanner, Google Lens, extra HD, macro and sticker.

The user can capture up to 1080p resolution videos at 30fps from both the front and back cameras. The video stabilisation mode is also only available in this resolution on both ends.

Oppo F21 Pro runs on ColorOS 12.1, which is based on Android 12. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6nm) chipset while the graphics are handled by Adreno 610. This is a modest mid-range chipset from Qualcomm and has been widely used by smartphones of a similar price category. The chipset is more focused on endurance rather than performance.

For gamers, the phone provides a game-focus mode that avoids calls, notifications and navigation gestures for a smooth gaming experience. Similarly, the AI frame rate stabiliser should ensure stable frame rates even under high system load and prevent overheating.

The phone is currently available with 8GB of RAM storage and 128GB of internal storage. The user has the option to expand the memory through a microSD card. The phone also includes a RAM expansion feature and with it, the user can borrow up to 5GB from unused ROM to further make the phone perform smoothly even during heavy usage.

Oppo F21 Pro has an average 4,500 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. With the power-efficient chipset on board, the battery should provide enough power to go through a day at least. The battery can be charged through Oppo’s 33W SUPERVOOC charger. Oppo has marketed that with five just five minutes of charging, the battery should provide up to 2.5 hours of talk time.

Oppo F21 Pro supports two sim cards with up to 4G network connectivity. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.1 helps the phone to get wirelessly paired with other devices. For wired pairing and charging the phone uses USB Type-C 2.0 cable. Also, the 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone can be really handy during gaming.

The phone includes some interesting features like air gestures. This mode uses a smart sensor, which enables air swipe gestures to answer calls and even scroll through social media apps.
