Realme C31 has been officially released in Nepal. This is a budget smartphone from the company.

Not long ago, Realme also launched its flagship phone Realme GT 2 Pro and premium mid-range Realme GT Neo 3 here in Nepal. This is also the second release in the C series from Realme this year with Realme C35 being launched a couple of months ago. This is an indication from the company that it will be competing with the giants such as Xiaomi and Samsung in every possible category.

Though Realme C31 is a budget-range smartphone, the users have plenty of features to enjoy. This phone has a decent display and should be easy to carry around due to the reduction in size. The phone also offers a good battery backup with further options for optimisation.

Design and display

Realme C31 has a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame design. The back of the phone has a dynamic texture design that is visually pleasing to the user. The back of the phone also houses a new square-shaped camera module and the Realme branding is done vertically on the bottom left of the phone. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone for biometrics. Furthermore, the display also has TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High-Reliability Certification for durability.

The phone weighs 197 grams and is 8.4mm thick. It is available in light silver and dark green colours.

On the front of Realme C31 is a 6.50-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720*1,600 pixels and 270 PPI density. There is a waterdrop notch on the display that houses a camera sensor. The phone has thick bezels at the bottom, but this has been the case with almost every smartphone in the similar price category.  With an 88.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio, the display can achieve a peak brightness of only 400 nits and has a touch sampling rate of 120Hz.

Realme C31 offers a triple camera setup on the back. The main 13MP camera has been housed together with a 2MP macro and 0.3MP black and white portrait lens. The camera module also houses an LED flash. By the looks of the camera module, one can easily guess that it is inspired by the iPhone pro series. Meanwhile, on the front is a 5MP selfie shooter with an HDR feature.

The camera modes on the phone include burst, filter, time-lapse, pro, panorama, macro, night pro, portrait and HDR.

As for video recording, the main camera on the back is capable of capturing 1080p resolution videos while the front camera can record videos in 720p resolution.

Performance and storage

Realme C31 runs on Realme UI 2.0, which is based on Android 11. The phone is powered by an entry-level Unisoc Tiger T612 (12nm) chipset while the graphical duties are handled by Mali-G57. It offers decent performance for the users to enjoy.

Currently, the phone is only available in a single variant. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expanded by up to 1TB with a microSD card. There is a dedicated slot on the phone for the card.

Battery life, connectivity and others

Realme C31 has a 5,000mAh non-removable li-po battery. The phone gets charged with a 10W charger, which means there is no fast charging on the phone. The phone features an ultra-saving mode. When this mode is activated, even a five per cent battery can provide:

  • Up to 1.1 hours of chat time
  • Up to 2.4 hours of call time
  • Up to 4.1 hours of Spotify

Realme C31 supports dual sims with 4G network connectivity. Similarly, the phone also supports dual-band wifi for internet connectivity. The phone uses Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless pairing with other devices while uses a micro-USB  2.0 for charging and wired pairing. The phone offers loudspeakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio.

Realme C31 is priced at Rs 17,799 for the single 4/64GB variant.
