Honor X7 has a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame build. All the phones in the recently launched Honor series feature a quad-camera setup on the back. However, Honor has made sure that each phone gets its own unique design. The camera setup on the back panel has a twin circular design. The Honor branding on Honor X7 has been done vertically at the left bottom, which is different from the other two. For biometrics, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone.

Honor X7 weighs around 198 grams and has a thickness of 8.60mm, making it the thickest in the series. The phone is available in titanium silver, ocean blue and midnight black colour options.

On the front is a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720*1,600 pixels and 260 PPI density. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The bezels are the thickest on this model compared to the other two.

Cameras

Like every model on the newly launched Honor X series, Honor X7 also comes with a quad-camera setup. However, the design of the camera module has been revamped. The top circle houses the main camera while the bottom one houses the remaining three and an LED flash. The main camera is a 48MP sensor while the other three are a 5MP ultrawide and a couple of 2MP depth and macro sensors. Meanwhile, there is an 8MP camera on the front for taking selfies and for the face unlock feature.

The camera modes on the phone include wide angle lens, aperture, night, portrait (including beauty mode), pro, panorama, HDR, filter, stickers, time-lapse photography, super macro, high-res and capture smile.

The main camera on the back and the front camera can record videos in up to 1080p resolution.

Performance and storage

Honor X7 runs on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (6nm) chipset while the graphics are handled by Adreno 610. It is strange to see all three smartphones in the Honor series with the same setup.

Currently, there is only a single variant of the phone in Nepal. The phone comes with 4GB RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage. An interesting thing about this phone is the user can expand both the storage and RAM. The RAM memory on the phone can be increased by 2GB while the storage can be increased by a further 512GB with a microSD card.

Battery life, connectivity and others

Honor X7 supports dual sims with 4G connectivity. Furthermore, it supports dual-band wifi, OTG, wifi hotspot and multiple navigation systems. The phone uses Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity with other devices while using a USB Type-C 2.0 cable for charging and wired pairing. For audio, there is a speaker on the phone and also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Notable features of Honor X7 are:

  • 6.74-inch large display
  • A newly designed camera module
  • 90Hz refresh rate support
  • Eye protection mode
  • RAM expansion mode
  • Up to 512GB memory expansion
