Three teenage girls have been found dead in mysterious circumstances in a tea estate in Jhapa.
The girls were found hanging on a tree in the tea estate at Bellegaun, Kachankawan rural municipality-5 of the Jhapa district in eastern Nepal this morning.
The deceased have been identified as Karina Ganesh (16), Kalpana Ganesh (16) and Anjali Ganesh (17). They used to work for the tea estate there but were missing since Saturday morning.
Police suspect it could be a suicide case, but details are awaited. Police are taking the bodies to a hospital for postmortem.
The rural municipality chairman Kalendra Prasad Singh says Saturday was their off day yet they had left home early in the morning. “After they did not return home by the evening, the police were informed.”
