Chitwan fire reduces property worth millions to ashes

Chitwan, April 28

A massive fire in Bharatpur of the Chitwan district of southern Nepal have destroyed property worth millions on Wednesday night.

A house at Kamalnagar, Bharatpur metropolitan city-3, had caught fire around midnight last night. It was taken under control at around 7 am today.

DSP Narahari Adhikari, the district police office spokesperson, says four fire engines were mobilised to control the fire. Locals and security personnel also assisted the effort.

The four-storey house belonging to Tulasi Ram Sapkota had caught fire. There were six shops in operation at the house.

Most of the goods stored at the shops were destroyed, but the loss is yet to be calculated, according to police. There is, however, no human casualty reported.
