Nepal Covid-19 tally: 8 new cases, 271 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,422 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said eight new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 1,696 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned eight returned positive. Likewise, 959 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional zero tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.47 per cent of the PCR and 0 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.3 per cent.

As of today, there are 1,758 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 210 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths recorded today.

Of the total cases so far, 964,608 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 47,701 people were vaccinated today.
