Nepal Covid-19 tally: 17 new cases, 409 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 19

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,180 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 17 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 1,993 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned eight returned positive. Likewise, 2,550 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional nine tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.4 per cent of the PCR and 0.35 cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.37 per cent.

As of today, there are 3,595 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 409 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 962,582 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 8,729 people were vaccinated today.
