Nepal Covid-19 tally: 836 new cases, 1,826 recoveries, 4 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,109,950 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 836 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 4,260 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 491 returned positive. Likewise, 2,394 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 345 tested positive.

Of total tests, 12.56 per cent of the PCR and 5.18 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 12.56 per cent.

As of today, there are 26,102 active cases across the country. Of them, 961 are hospitalised, 200 in intensive care units and 34 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,826 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were four deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 934,648 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,882 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 288,837 people were vaccinated today.
