Nepal Covid-19 tally: 350 new cases, 1,272 recoveries, 4 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,113,894 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 350 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 3,538 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 198 returned positive. Likewise, 3,558 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 152 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.59 per cent of the PCR and 4.27 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.93 per cent.

As of today, there are 13,357 active cases across the country. Of them, 529 are hospitalised, 142 in intensive care units and 17 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,272 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were four deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 950,056 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,917 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 769,576 people were vaccinated today.
