Nepal Covid-19 tally: 351 new cases, 273 recoveries, 9 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 915,069 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 351 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,829 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 313 returned positive. Likewise, 1,445 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 38 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.99 per cent of the PCR and 2.62 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.44 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,300 active cases across the country. Of them, 431 are hospitalised, 223 in intensive care units and 51 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 273 people have achieved recovery whereas nine deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 800,890 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,509 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 98,511 people were vaccinated today.
