Jhapa man killed after being hit by an autorickshaw

Jhapa, November 22

A man has died after being hit by an autorickshaw at Firing Chok, Mechinagar municipality-6 of the Jhapa district in far-eastern Nepal on Sunday evening.

The victim has been identified as Chandra Prasad Adhikari (51), a resident of the same place.

As Adhikari was on his foot along the road, the three-wheeler (Me 1 Ha 6450) had hit him at around 6:30 pm yesterday. Seriously injured in the accident, he was taken to the B & C Hospital in Birtamod, where he died during treatment.

The Kakadbhitta Area Police Office says the rickshaw driver has been arrested and his vehicle confiscated for further investigation.
