Daayitwa trains Lumbini municipal officials in economic governance

Kathmandu, November 23

Daayitwa, a policy research NGO, has organised a training programme on economic governance for various municipal officials in the Lumbini province on Sunday and Monday.

The organisation says mayors, deputy mayors, chief administrative officers and other officials of Tilottama, Musikot and Sunawal municipalities participated in the two-day event.

Former chief secretary Leela Mani Paudyal, former secretary Krishna Gyawali and Daayitwa founder Pukar Malla facilitated various sessions.

Also addressing the event, Gandaki Provincial Policy and Planning Commission Vice-chairman Raghuraj Kaphle said he wanted to do the same event in his province also.

The organisation says the training was a part of the Leadership for Economic Governance project that began in the three municipalities last August. It is hoped that the training would enable the local governments to play an active role at the community level to promote youth employment and thereby motivate inclusive economic growth.
