Panel reports ‘problem’ in Nepal-China border in Humla

Kathmandu, September 27

A panel consisting of bureaucrats and security officials has reported that there are some problems regarding the Nepal-China border in the Humla district of Karnali.

But, without categorically mentioning what the problem is, the panel has suggested the formation of a joint group between the two countries or an experts’ group to deal with the issue, informs the Home Ministry spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel.

The committee headed by Home Ministry Joint-secretary Jaya Raj Acharya submitted its report to Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand on Sunday, after some field visit. Receiving the report, the minister said the government would implement recommendations of the committee.

Earlier this month, Nepal recently formed a government panel to investigate the reported border dispute with China in the Humla district though the earlier government had made it clear that there is no dispute with China
