Dashain run-up: Advance ticket booking opens for people leaving Kathmandu

Kathmandu, September 27

Advance ticket booking for people wanting to return home for Dashain has opened from Monday. The government has urged everyone to check the government rates before booking tickets as they tend to receive complaints of bus operators overcharging passengers every year during this time.

To make sure this doesn’t happen, the Department of Transport Management has set up 14 help desks across the valley to assist people to book tickets in advance. These help desks are located in New Buspark, Machapokhari, Swayambhu, Kalanki, Nagdhunga, Balkhu, Dakshinkali, Satdobato, Koteshwor, Jagati, Chabhahil, Gaushala, Sundhara and Old Buspark.

These help desks will have officials from NADA, traffic police, community police and officials from the Department of Transport Management.

The government has urged all passengers to report any issues they have at these help desks. They also say that strict action will be taken against transport operators who overcharge passengers.
