Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,525 new cases, 2,086 recoveries, 35 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 831,968 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 2,525 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,909 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,020 returned positive. Likewise, 4,901 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 505 tested positive.

Of total tests, 20.38 per cent of the PCR and 10.30 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 17.04 per cent.

As of today, there are 38,351 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,105 are hospitalised, 620 in intensive care units and 170 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2, 086 people have achieved recovery whereas 35 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 702,183 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,568 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.5 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.

Likewise, 3,857,598 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,943,732 have received their first dose
