Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,295 new cases, 1,808 recoveries, 16 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 844,488 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 2,295 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,892 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,902 positive. Likewise, 4,341 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 393 tested positive.

Of total tests, 15.99 per cent of the PCR and 9.05 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 14.13 per cent.

As of today, there are 35,894 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,541 are hospitalised, 568 in intensive care units and 160 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,808 people have achieved recovery whereas 16 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 714,520 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,730 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.9 per cent and the death 1.5 rate per cent.
