Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,065 new cases, 2,337 recoveries, 25 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 838,948 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 2,065 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,752 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,577 positive. Likewise, 4,365 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 488 tested positive.

Of total tests, 18.01 per cent of the PCR and 11.17 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 15.74 per cent.

As of today, there are 37,599 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,923 are hospitalised, 622 in intensive care units and 181 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,337 people have achieved recovery whereas 25 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 708,270 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,663 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.6 per cent and the death 1.5 rate per cent.

Today 179,865 were vaccinated.
