Minor killed in Palpa landslide, Siddhartha Highway obstructed at several points

A 10-year-old girl died when her house collapsed due to a landslide in Tansen, the district headquarters of Palpa, on Sunday morning.

The victim has been identified as Naini Darji (10), the daughter of Narayan Darji, a resident of Kailashnagar, Tansen-5.

A landslide at around 2:30 am today had resulted in the collapse of the house. The girl was injured after being hit by a wall and was rushed to the nearby Mission Hospital. However, she was already dead upon arrival, DSP Rameshwar Twanti, the District Police Office spokesperson says.

Meanwhile, the Siddhartha Highway connecting Butwal and Bhairahawa in the Terai with Pokhara in the hills via Palpa has been obstructed at over a dozen points due to landslides.
