Indian BJP foreign affairs chief Vijay Chauthaiwale in Kathmandu upon PM Deuba’s invite

Kathmandu, August 23

Vijay Chauthaiwale, the chief of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Indian ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is in Kathmandu on an unofficial visit.

Sources say Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Nepali Congress party invited him for the visit. Chauthaiwale paid a courtesy call on PM Deuba on Sunday.

The guest reveals on Twitter that he congratulated the PM on his election as the country’s executive head, adding they also agreed to strengthen party-to-party dialogue.

Meanwhile, Chauthaiwale also met Nepali Congress leader Prakash Sharan Mahat, also a former foreign affairs minister and a confidant of Deuba. He is expected to meet other leaders from other parties also.
