Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,840 new cases, 1,993 recoveries, 33 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 28

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 746,657 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry 3,840 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,886 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,634 returned positive. Likewise, 4,922 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,206 tested positive.

Of total tests, 24.19 per cent of the PCR and 24.50 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 24.34 per cent.

As of today, there are 29,444 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,792 are hospitalised, 611 in intensive care units and 168 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,993 people have achieved recovery whereas 33 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 649,072 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,771 died, according to the ministry.
