Ride-sharing to resume in Kathmandu from Monday evening

Kathmandu, June 21

With the chief district officers’ decision to let private vehicles including motorbikes and scooters to operate in the Kathmandu valley on odd-even rationing from Tuesday, ride-sharing services such as Tootle and Pathao say they will also resume their operation from this evening itself.

Tootle and Pathao say they will, however, maintain all necessary safety measures during the operation. Apparently, they will also follow the odd-even rationing.

Tootle Founder Sixit Bhatta says, “We have asked the passengers to compulsorily wear a mask and maintain necessary precautions.”

“We are not using PPEs but have maintained all necessary precautions,” Pathao Regional Director Aseem Man Singh Basnyat says. Pathao has developed a protocol on the use of gloves, masks and sanitiser for protection.

Meanwhile, taxies have also been allowed to operate from tomorrow.
