Nepal Covid-19 tally: 6,731 PCR and 208 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 106

Kathmandu, May 27

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 542,256 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 6,731 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 20,414 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 998,064 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 578 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 208 tested positive.

As of today, there are 116,476 active cases across the country. Of them, 7,850 are hospitalised, 1,645 in intensive care units, and 457 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 7,226 people have achieved recovery whereas 106 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 77.2 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 418,829 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 6,951 died, according to the ministry.

Over 920 are quarantined across the country.
