NAC aircraft to bring China-donated Covid-19 vaccines to Kathmandu on Tuesday

Kathmandu, May 31

The Nepal Airlines Corporation says its chartered aircraft is flying to Beijing tonight to bring the first lot of the Covid-19 vaccines that China has announced to donated to Nepal last week.

The aircraft will leave Kathmandu at 11 on Monday night and will be back at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, informs the NAG Managing Director Dim Prakash Paudel.

The aircraft will carry 800,000 of the one million doses of the vaccines in the first phase, according to Paudel.

During a telephone conversation with President Bidya Devi Bhandari on May 26, her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping had announced the vaccine support.

It is not immediately known when and how Nepal will bring the remaining doses of vaccines.
