Kathmandu lockdown: Contact these numbers if you need groceries when shops are shut

Kathmandu, May 27

After stakeholders criticised the government’s decision to shut grocery shops also during the extended prohibitory period beginning from Friday, the Kathmandu District Administration Office says it will manage the delivery of essential foodstuffs at the local level during the period.

The DAO says the government-owned Food Management and Trading Company and Salt Trading Corporation Limited will deliver the goods as demanded by the citizens.

The office has said the companies will deliver goods in coordination with the concerned local governments.

The companies have sufficient stocks of rice, lentils and pulses, cooking oil and salt among others, according to Kathmandu’s Assistant Chief District Officer Uma Kanta Adhikari.
