Saptari: 11 held for opening schools to defy govt order

Police in Saptari of southeastern Nepal have arrested 11 school operators after finding that the continued operating the schools defying the government order.

Earlier, the government had ordered the closure of the schools in all urban areas of the country in its bid to keep the children safe from the infection.

However, some schools in the Saptari district headquarters, Rajbiraj, were found operating the classes, hence they were arrested, informs Chief District Officer Phanindra Mani Pokharel.

Pokharel says the law enforcers had resorted to the arrest after they did not agree to close the school even after repeated requested.

Pokharel says concerned officials will decide the nature of action to be taken against them today itself.
