Janakpurdham, February 23
A couple has disappeared from their own house in Sahodawa, Pipara rural municipality-5 of the Mahottari district in southeastern Nepal on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, locals staged a demonstration along the Janakpur-Jaleshwar road demanding the authorities immediately launch a search operation. They also obstructed the road, burning tyres.
Musaphir Jha (66) and his wife Geeta Devi (60) are incommunicado since the early morning today. The couple would stay there with their younger daughter-in-law.
DIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh, the Provincial Police Office Chief, says some bloodstains were seen at the house, so the incident is mysterious.
“We are interrogating the daughter-in-law and other neighbours,” Singh says, adding the search is underway.
