Bara: Indians arrested with Rs 2.5 million cash from unidentified source

Birgunj, February 25

Two Indian nationals have been arrested in possession of Rs 2.535 million in Bara of southern Nepal after they could not identify the source of the cash.

The arrestees have been identified as Chandra Shekhar Prasad (35) and Sanjaya Kumar (38), permanent residents of Narkatia, East Champaran- of Bihar.

Police Inspector Surendra Yadav says they were arrested during a regular checking at Barewa Tole, Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-8 of the district on Wednesday. They were travelling on an Indian motorbike (Br 05 K 0798) and the cash was hidden in a secret compartment.

The District Police Office says the law enforcers have also confiscated the motorbike for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the arrestees were paraded during a press meet in the district on Thursday.
