Westerly wind brings cloudy weather to Nepal

Kathmandu, December 23

The weather in Nepal turned partly to generally cloudy in most parts of the country today due to the influence of the westerly wind, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology says.

Partly to generally cloudy conditions prevailed in Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces due to the impact of the westerly. Likewise, it was partly cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Bagmati, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar says there are, however, no chances of rainfall taking place as the westerly wind is in a weak state.

Most parts of the country would fog and haze in the next few mornings and it would be sunny from the afternoons.

It will be partly to generally cloudy in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces in the night also while the weather will be generally fair in the rest of the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

As per the latest weather information shared by the division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu valley today was 3.6 degrees Celsius and the maximum 19.8 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, the lowest minimum temperature (minus 3.4 degrees Celsius) was recorded in Jumla and the highest minimum temperature (9.0 degrees Celsius) was recorded in Bhairahawa in the last 24 hours.
