Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,508 new cases, 2,264 recoveries, 17 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 170,743 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,508 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,357 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 9,279 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 443,343 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 38,584 cases are active currently. Among them, 31,008 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 296 are in intensive care units and 69 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 131,222 people have achieved recovery whereas 937 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,264 people have been discharged whereas 17 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 76.9 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang, Manang and Bajura do not have any active case.

Over 2,400 people are quarantined across the country.
