Six days on, Rautahat police yet to find priest’s murderer

It has been six days since a priest in Khesrahiya, Madhav Narayan municipality-2 of Rautahat, was found murdered. However, police are yet to find out who killed the man.

The officials claim they have expedited the investigation, hoping the truth would come out soon.

Shree Ram Sah, the priest of the local Hanuman Temple, was fatally shot at by unidentified persons when he was preparing for dinner on August 19.

Besides the District Police Office, the Province 2 Police Office has also mobilised its investigators to look into the case. “We have been a bit late, but we will soon solve the mystery. The investigation is underway,” SSP Yagya Binod Pokharel, who leads the provincial investigation team, says.

Meanwhile, various organisations in the district have been demanding that the murderer be arrested at the earliest. Moreover, ruling Nepal Communist Party leader and lawmaker Prabhu Sah has said the deceased priest should be declared a martyr.
